Other Ways of Witnessing on the Web

Witnessing on the web is a great opportunity to let the world know that Jesus saves and that he is always knocking at the door of our hearts to set us free from the bondage of sin. I believe an awesome way to witness on the wed is by hearing the testimony from everyday people sharing how Christ has made and impact on their lives. The interviews could come from our brothers and sisters in Christ, co-workers, and youth groups. I find it easy to talk to my customers about life in general and before it's over sometimes we end up talking about how the Lord has brought us through the trial we have faced in life, thus far. By broadcasting the different testimonies on the web, I would at the end of each one would place scripture as inspiration, to keep the saints encouraged and usher in the unsaved to win them over for Christ. I would also invite the viewers to send in their testimonies as well.

How do you use Wikipedia?

I haven't really had use Wikipedia to research anything for myself. My son had a project that needed research and this source was used. We found more than enough information in reference to the topic he used. He also found a great amount of pictures as well. This was basically my extent of the use of Wikipedia. I've heard that it's an awesome search engine but I haven't had any real reason to use it.

Current News Story

The news story that has caught my attention is that of Somer Thompson. This little girl was on her way home from school when Jarred Harrell allegedly took her, assaulted and murdered her. This story touched me deeply because I am a mother. As parents when we send our kids off to school we expect for them to return unharmed. What Jarred Harrell did to this Somer Thompson was horrific to say the least. To hear and see the mother, Deana Thompson pleading for her daughthers return, only to find out that Somer would not return alive, was more than any mother could bear. I could not be there for that mother in the physical, but what I did do was pray for justic in this matter. I am happy to see that this man has been captured but I wonder what made this man want to give up his freedom, by going after the freedom of a defenseless little girl. This is something I will never understand.

Which website is the best?

Facebook is a very useful website. This site allows you the opportunity to go and seach for family members, friends and even located a new church in you area. Facebook's layout offer a great way to put your views out there on the world wide web. So if you want to minister, invite new people to church or share testimonies to encourage one another, this is one of the many ways to do so. You can share different links on christian products and services as well. I've been introduced to Facebook by posting some assignments via college and this has truly expanded the way I could use this as a tool to share knowledge with others.

Why do you use Facebook?

I'm currently using facebook to post different topics, ideas and also to witness on the topic of Christianity. I am required to use this site as a way to learn different techniques for writing. But facebook and be used for so much more. It's a great search engine for relocating friends and family or to find out information about anything from movies to cars. But on the controversal side facebook can serve as tool for bulling, or unwanting advances. I have been able to use facbook to notify my family of gatherings, and keep up with new business ventures. It's useful in many ways but like anything else facebook has it's pros and cons.

What's the biggest issue that's theating modern Christianity?

There are too many types of Christians. Today's Christian does not want to stand up for Christ. Many who are professing to be Christians, aren't picking up their crosses and following Jesus. This is causing many to fall away from the church and not ever really learn what it means to be Christ-like. There are Christians whom attend church, study scripture and pray daily as well as take active roles in the church. There are others whom attend church on occassion and feel as though they have done their duty as a Christian. Some would rather just receive their connections to Christ via the media, without ever really making the connection of assembling with other Christians. There are so many just looking to be entertained and the list can go on. Modern Christianity is in need for more active Christians who are not afraid to share their faith and who are equipped to stand up for the faith. (www.christianitytoday.com)

Christian Entertainment

Entertainment for Christians can be fun, but we have to be careful not to let what the world calls entertainmemt separate us from God. Christians can enjoy music, go see movies as long as the content is suitable. We can attend theatrical plays, have dinner with our friend, have parties, enjoy the beaches, etc. But in all we do, we must have to be careful to always honor God. It is not ok to go to bars, drink in excess, tell dirty jokes, or watching things that are inappropriate.

World Famous Photos

The child in the photo appears to be looking upward as if they are in search for an answer. Sometimes in our lives we face difficulties wheither it be in our health, finances or tragedie in our families. When these troubled times come and we have exhausted all of our resources, we too resort to that same stance of looking upward for a divine answer to our problems in life.

Christian Stuff

The Christian items I've come across that have been interesting are books. The first book's title is volume three of Prayers That Avail Much by Germaine Copeland Word Ministries, Inc. This book is interesting because of it's short stories, scripture references and prayers. The other book is A Divine Revelation of Heaven by Mary K. Baxter with Dr. Lowery. This one is a great read because it really calls for a closer walk with God. The link is www.whitetakerhouse.com.
The Christian item that was questionable is the Healing Spring water. This item is sold by Peter Popoff Ministries.org. The spring water is supposed to heal of any sicknesses.

The History and Spirit Of Blogging

The History and Spirit of Blogging
The history of blogging is very informal. I did not realize that there are so many bloggers on the internet. This is very new for me. I have heard the term blogging used, but I never thought of using it as the tool it’s being used for.
There are so many avenues to take when it comes to blogging. This is definitely a great way to communicate worldwide to get your thoughts out, and to share the Gospel with the world.
There are too many people out there who are hurting and don’t know that there is a Savior who is waiting for them to want something bigger than they could ever obtain on this earth. There is a Savior that has given himself for us to live on eternally and people need to know that. This Savior is Christ Jesus, whom the world can’t give and can’t take away for us.
Being able to blog such information freely, makes it all the better. Having access to communicate with others to ask questions, find out the very latest in news, launch person campaigns, and talk to relatives is an awesome thing.
Blogging is also a great way to search find a community who are Christians to share our faith. I am sure there are many of us with questions and answers, when it comes to scripture in the Bible.
More importantly blogging is an awesome way to communicate with others, our faith in Christ, our thoughts, life’s testimonies, our trials and our victories in Jesus. We can share him in so many ways, but a must through the word of God. We must reach out to hear from others and seek out to help others.
I finish this blog with food for thought. If you and your friends decided to make a movie, what would it be like if one girl wanted a comedy, another wanted mystery, the third wanted a love story so you could bring out the tissue and have a good cry, the movie would never work. It’s the same thing when we go about God’s business, his kingdom business. Even when you mean well people have disagreements. We have different styles and personalities. This is life. As a Christian, we don’t have to pretend our differences don’t exist. We can disagree, but not to the point that it tears apart our friendships and family.
In Matthew 12:25 the Bible says “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or house hold divided against itself will not stand.

Which Version of the Bible Do You Use and Why?

The type of Bible I prefer to use is the NIV Life Application Bible. The way this Bible is set up, makes the scripture easier to understand. The scriptures are written three different ways. The first in the normal format, then broken down into today's language and finally footnotes at the bottom. There are also addtional scripture referrences along the pages. And if I want to look up a certain topic, they're located in the index at the back of the Bible.
I perfer reading from a paper back Bible versus a digital Bible because I like to sit in my bed and read, holding my book, it feels more personal. I don't really care much for looking at a computer screen. I'm just old fashioned that way. I want to carry my sword in book form.

Favorite Passage of Scripture

My my favorite scriptures is in Matthew 6:25-34 because Jesus taught about not worring. He tells us not to worry about our lives. He says the we should't worry about what we're going to eat, drink, our bodies or what we will wear. Jesus say's that if our heavenly Father will take care of the birds of the air and dress the fields with grass then why wouldn't he take care of us and human beings made in his own image
Sometimes we can get so caught up in pondering on the things of tomorrow and the what if's, but if we are spending time worring it takes away and interfears with our relationship with God. Fear shows that our faith is not complete in Christ. We have to pray and ask the Lord to help us trust and lean on him, when all of the answers aren't in sight.

Keeping Time

My schedule gets pretty busy each week. On Sundays I get up around 5:00 am to pray on this prayerline over the phone, start breakfast for my family, make sure everyones clothes are pressed for church, comb my kids hair, make sure shoes and socks are out, make sure everyone is dressed on time to head out for church. I make it to church in time for choir rehearsal, sing for Sunday service which can usually last about 30 minutes for so. Later after church service is over I go home make dinner and maybe take a nap and do some homework. At the end of the day I clean a little and get things ready for Monday. On Monday I am up by 5:30 am to get my son up for school, make breakfast for him, make sure that he is prepared with his school items and ready for the bus to come. I pray with him before he leaves the house or sometimes I pray for him alone. After I get him out the door it's time for me to get my nine year old daugther up for school, which could be a task at times because she does not like getting up at 6:30 am. Anyway I get her dressed, make sure she washes her face and brush her teeth, I comb her hair and make sure she has breakfast, pray with her before she leaves out the door for the bus. Between 7:30 and 8:00 am I make sure my 17 year old is up getting herself ready for school and then it's my turn to start getting myself ready for school as well. My eldest daughther and I talk and pray often together about our day and we head out so that I could drop her off to school and then I head to school at Florida Christian College. I usually have class Monday thru Friday, along with Chapel on Tuesdays and Discipleship group on Thursdays. On Wednsday nights I have Bible study at my church and on every first Thursday of the month I have a life connect group my family and I attend. In this group we have bible study, pray for one another, prepare meals for familes in crises, and have worship time before the Lord. Throughout the day I am praying, reading the word of God, sharing the Lord with someone, wheither it's at my job with clients, my family and or friends. I'm working my job on Fridays and Saturday.

Time Management

God has definitely been dealing with me about how I spend my time. I realize that my schedule can get pretty hectic. After reading Arron Chamber's blog, this really has caused me to focuse more on what is filling up my time during the day and I need to make changes.

Obama's back to school speech

Obama's speech welcomed kids back to school in a way that would also welcome them to challange to challange themselves with education. He stressed how important it is to stay focused in school so that the kids may succeed. The language in the speech was not too complicating for the kids to understand. He gave great examples of how he, his wife, and others have had great oppositions in their lives, but giving up was not an option. He identified with some of the problems that children face in their homes everyday but he incouraged them to not let life's obstacles keep them from dreaming and setting goals in life and accomplishing them. My favorite part of his speech was the comment "Where you are right now doesn't have to determine where you'll end up". This is so true life's circumstances can make or brake you but at the end of the day, we decide who's report we believe.

The Crisis in Haiti

There is so much devastation in Haiti. lThere is so much lose of life, mothers, fathers, babies, aunts, uncles, etc. My real concern is of how many souls have veen lost due to sin in the lives of the people who died during the earthquake. We don't know when our final hour is approaching us and so when devastating earthquakes or hurricanes hit, there is so much more at a lose. In Haiti people are bewildered and some are complaing about how much they have lost in monitary value, some are truely missing their family members, but I wonder if the people of Haiti are really concerned about where their souls will reside. I pray that through all that has happened in Haiti, God will be reverenced, recognized and exalted for who he is, The Living God, who cares for us and who has not abandoned us. May the people of Haiti who do not know our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.

Have you ever witnessed using the internet?

I have witnessed using the internet over the years without really setting out to do so. Just having a conversation with friends and family. There were times when issues in life come up in conversation and times were rough in someones life and God presented the perfect opportunity to witness. I have had friends say to me, do you remember when you told me about this scripture, it really took root in their lives. Or someone would want to know if I am still attending the same church and want to know if they could come along. There have been times when I would received email from a Christian web site and pass it on to my friends and famiy. We would later have a discussion on the topics or sing new songs to help uplift one another. I have passed on information concering the youth and the secular music that being played today. This information has caused many of us to be set free from bondage that is hidden behind the music and the secular messages that the music artists are promoting. God has also given me the oppoutunity to witness to some of my friends who are in the military. They sometimes get sent to different countries and so we get to witness to each other and keep one another encouraged in Christ as well as pass the love.
